(BOISE)—Idaho congressional candidate Walt Minnick today announced two additions to his campaign team.

Amber Pence, currently the chief of staff to House Minority Leader Wendy Jaquet, will serve as finance director. Pence has worked for numerous Idaho campaigns, and was finance director for Boise Mayor David Bieter’s successful re-election effort.

“Amber has extensive experience working on municipal and legislative campaigns across the state,” Jaquet said. “Amber has created a skill set unique to Idaho campaign fundraising. She will do an outstanding job for Walt Minnick in his effort to win his race for the first congressional district.”

John Foster, the former executive director of the Idaho Democratic Party, will serve as communications director. Prior to working for the Party, Foster was managing editor of the Idaho Business Review.

“On behalf of the party and Democrats across the State of Idaho I want to express our great debt of gratitude for the incredible work John has done to advance our goals and programs,” IDP Chairman Keith Roark said. “It was with the deepest sense of regret that I accepted John’s resignation but I understand his desire to find a position that will better balance work and family. I will personally miss John and fervently hope that he will continue to use his considerable talent, intelligence and energy in the service of Idaho Democrats. I personally wish him the very best of luck in his new position and have no doubt he will find success in whatever endeavors the future may have in store for him.”

“I am delighted to be able to announce the addition of these two talented and experienced individuals to the Minnick for Congress team,” said Minnick. “Amber and John are two of the brightest young professionals in Idaho politics and will contribute greatly to our efforts to win the Democratic primary in May and to replace Bill Sali with a Congressman more in tune with Idaho values and the nation’s priorities in November.”
